pretty petits fours

I received a lovely box of petits fours this afternoon from my wonderful daughter for Mother’s Day. Each bite-size cake is beautifully decorated and Yes, they taste as wonderful as they look! I’ve never had such delicate cakes with each component balanced so perfectly; layers of vanilla cake, jam, buttercream, dark chocolate ganache and marzipan. Thank you my sweet girl — now if you were only here to share them with me…

There are 4 different flavors; chocolate, vanilla-orange, raspberry and lemon and each one was more delicious than the one before. Can that be possible?  Such an indulgent treat.

They look too pretty to eat – and the flavors! How to choose???

This one looks tempting! What do you think?

The bakery of these elegant cakes is dragonfly cakes in Sausalito, California.  Every few months, they offer classes to learn how to finish and decorate the petits fours and you even get to take a 12-piece box of your creation home with you.  Now this could be something wonderful to do for girl’s weekend…
