There is something about seeing your work in print… After having spent weeks shooting new photographs, hours of image edits, and searching out the perfect print studio and portfolio designer, super big THANK YOU’S go out to the following as the making of this book was truly a team effort.
Image edits and layout – photography consultant Amanda Sosa Stone
Logo Design – Nadine Stellavato Brown of Brand Envy
Printing – Lincoln Miller at pushdot STUDIO
Portfolio / Slipcase – custom design and handcrafted by Scott Mullenberg of Mullenberg Designs
After looking at various fabric samples and different book designs, I was overwhelmed to say the least! I’m so grateful to Scott for taking the initiative and coming up with this color and fabric scheme which matches my branding perfectly.
Image selections and page layouts were designed by Amanda Sosa Stone. Rather than hiring a graphic designer for the final book layout, I chose to learn InDesign so I could do future layouts of new work myself. Using Amanda’s PDF file as a guide, the final book was completed and the InDesign files were forwarded to Lincoln at pushdot STUDIOS for printing.
The beautiful printing makes the images look good enough to eat and as a food photographer, this is exactly what I wanted! As suggested by Lincoln, we chose to use Moab Entrada (bright white, 190g, double-sided) paper and it was purchased from B&H and shipped directly to pushdot STUDIOS.
After proofing and printing, Lincoln packaged the pages and sent them on to Mullenberg Designs. They were then trimmed, drilled and scored so they would fit perfectly in Scott’s hand-crafted book.
