end of summer promo… and recipe for poparitas!!!

margarita pops

Recipe for poparitas (margarita pops)               makes 6-8 pops

4 limes, peels removed
3 teaspoons grated lime zest
1/2 cup of your favorite margarita mix**
4 tablespoons agave nectar or simple syrup
simple syrup: bring 1/4 cup each of sugar and water to a boil, stirring until dissolved. let cool
1-2 ounces tequila (optional)

In a blender, add peeled limes and margarita mix. Puree until liquid consistency
Stir in lime zest, simple syrup, tequila and mix well
Pour the mixture into ice pop molds and insert sticks
Freeze until firm. At least 6-8 hours and preferably overnight
To unmold the pops, run warm water over the outsides of the mold for a few seconds then gently pull on the sticks

** I used Tres Agaves Margarita Mix because it has just the right tartness… the overall flavor is smooth and not too sour for the pops!
